A basic inspection of a helicopter flight helmet includes the following points:
- Visual inspection of the helmet shell (scratches, impact points, deformations, cracks, delamination)
- Visual inspection of the (E.A.Liner) Styrofoam helmet shell (cracks, breaks, deformations)
- Visual inspection (TPL) of helmet padding / inner lining (wear, dirt, seams and fabric tears)
- Visual inspection of the visors (scratches in the field of vision, function, fastening, locking, missing/loose components, etc. screws)
- Visual inspection of the cable set (intercom connector, cracks, damage to the cable, helmet/microphone plug connection)
- Visual inspection (retention system) helmet straps (wear, soiling, seam and fabric tears, correct attachment, missing parts)
- Visual inspection of the communication components (microphone attachment, microphone holder, cracked deformation of the ear seal, missing parts of the insulation)
- Checking the communication elements on the test device
- Checking all moving components for proper function
