In principle, protective helmets, especially the interior fittings, are exposed to the same pollutants as protective clothing. You will absorb these impurities through your scalp the next time you use it.
Cleaning a helicopter flight helmet includes the following points:
- Cleaning and disinfecting the helmet shell
- Cleaning and disinfecting the (TPL) helmet padding/lining
- Cleaning and disinfecting the neck pad and chin strap with chin pad
- Cleaning and disinfection depending on the helmet type, the retention system (helmet strap system)
- Cleaning and disinfecting the ear seals and internal insulation of the shell
- Cleaning and disinfecting communication cables
- Cleaning the visors
